ABU ROBOCON
The Ultimate Playground for Engineering Excellence
What is Robocon?
ABU Robocon (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Robot Contest) is an Asian-Oceanian college robot competition. Founded in 2002, it acts as a platform for engineering students to demonstrate their technical skills, innovation, and teamwork.
Each year, a unique theme is announced, presenting a complex challenge that requires teams to build autonomous and manual robots to complete specific tasks within a time limit.

Road to Victory
Stage 1: Solution ideas submission
All teams are required to submit detailed technical documentation which includes the robot's designs and the justifications behind those design choices. The documentation is evaluated out of 100 points.
Stage 2: Proof of Concept submission
Teams are evaluated based on videos showcasing robots performing the competition tasks according to the rulebook guidelines.
Stage 3: Finals
Based on the Stage 1 and Stage 2 scores, top 50 teams are selected for the final one-on-one competition at the national host college.

Kung Fu Quest
The theme for ABU Robocon 2026, hosted in Hong Kong, is "Kung Fu Quest," merging martial arts with robotics. Teams use two robots (manual R1 and autonomous R2) to assemble weapons, collect sacred Kung Fu Scrolls in the Meihua Forest, and play a strategic Tic-Tac-Toe game to become a "Kung Fu Master".
The competition emphasizes discipline, strategy, and teamwork, inspired by Kung Fu philosophy and training.
